MEDICAL ASSISTANT :
Course Description  

Medical assistants are multi-skilled professionals who are trained to handle a variety of duties. These practitioners work primarily in ambulatory settings such as medical offices and clinics. This 224 hour course consisting of 144 hours of class/lab time and 80 hours of clinical time, will introduce students to administrative responsibilities as well as learning how to perform clinical procedures such as; assisting with examinations, removing sutures, changing sterile dressings, drawing blood samples, and performing EKGs. Students will be prepared for an entry level position as a medical assistant.

Admission Requirements

Enrollment will not be complete until the following requirements have been met:

1. An application for enrollment form must be completed.
2. A non-refundable $50 registration fee must accompany the application (the fee will be returned if the application is denied.).
3. Applicants need to be at least 17 years old.
4. If the payment schedule option is chosen, the first payment must be paid by the beginning of the course.

Tuition and Fees

There is a $50. non-refundable, non-transferrable registration fee for the Medical Assistant course. Tuition is $1,949. The following payment schedule is available to students if desired: $1,000 due by the first day of class; $949 due before beginning the 7th week of class. Tuition is accrued on a pro-rated basis (see Refund Policy below.). Students will be required to wear a school uniform to the externship sites. Uniform stores charge approximately $30.
