Medical transcription is a fascinating and extremely necessary position within the medical profession. Medical Transcriptionists listen to dictated recordings made by physicians and other health care professionals and transcribe them into medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative material. A knowledge of medical terminology, good typing skills and a working knowledge of English grammar, spelling & proofreading are essential. Upon completion of this 84 hour course the student will be prepared to seek an entry level position as a medical transcriptionist.
Admission Requirements
Enrollment will not be complete until the following requirements have been met:
1. An application for enrollment form must be completed.
2. A non-refundable $50 registration fee must accompany the application (the fee will be returned if the application is
denied).
3. Applicants need to be at least 17 years old.
4. Applicants must be able to bring a laptop with a wireless internet card to class.
5. Applicants must be familiar with and have some proficiency in keyboarding and basic word processing.
6. If the payment schedule option is chosen, the first payment must be paid by the beginning of the course.
Tuition and Fees
There is a $50. non-refundable, non-transferrable registration fee for the Medical Transcription course. Tuition is $900. The following payment schedule is available to students if desired: $300 due by the first day of class; $300 due one third of the way thorough the class; and $300 due two thirds of the way through the class. Tuition is accrued on a pro-rated basis (see Refund Policy below).
